Black Velvet Rose: Book of Thorns
Here in this dimly lit room
Surrounded by filth and grime
Is the perfect place to paint a picture
A picture of my life
Picture this in your mind
A mindless void of thought
Deprived and deserted
Only a shell
Void of all things
I sit back against the wall
A shimmer
A glint of metal in my hand
I turn and twist my lovely possession
With a devilish grim across my lips
As, the pain
Of the first slice
Subsides with the first hint
Of Life’s dark red nectar
Seeping slow
And steady down my wrist
As, sweet release
Of all that matters
The second slice cuts deep
Total rapture as the stream grows
Strong and thick
The dark red pool
Slowly surrounds me
Glistening
Like rubies in the sun
Life’s blood spent
As the body goes limp
Void of all movement
A downward spiral
Void of all thought
Ah, sweet release
Sweet rapture
Of Life’s Blood Spent
